In September, students from WPSC were invited to attend the White House in Washington D.C. to discuss the ever-increasing popularity of College Radio in America. General Manager, Dr. Rob Quicke, led the first ever delegation from college radio to visit the White House. WPSC students Michelle Martinez, Joel Carrasquillo and Eric Dargis interviewed Obama administration officials on issues important to them and their campuses, such as college affordability and the problem of sexual assault on campus.
They met with Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, Cecelia Muñoz, Assistant to the President and Director of the Domestic Policy Council, and also Josh Ernest, Press Secretary. At the end of their visit Dr. Quicke was presented with a letter of support from President Obama. President Obama was UNAVAILABLE that day... boo .
