College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Open House

Brave New Radio was honored to take part in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Open House on Thursday, October 21st, 2021. The event showcased the exciting and innovative programs offered in the newly formed college. The Atrium hosted live performances from faculty and student musicians from the Music Department and live broadcasting from Brave New Radio.

At the Brave New Radio tent, our News Director and On-Air Personality, Marissa Banks, interviewed the newly appointed CAHSS Dean Wartyna Davis and Associate Dean Ian Marshall about the new college and what excites them about the opportunities that come with the merging of the two former colleges, the College of the Arts and Communication and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Students also had the opportunity to win prizes at our tent and enter a raffle to win tickets to see The Soul Rebels, a soul and funk band from New Orleans playing at the Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ on November 18th. William Paterson University’s beloved mascot, Pio the Pioneer, also visited our tent to enjoy the festivities.

Inside the Atrium, the different departments and majors within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences also set up tables and showcased what they have to offer to the university and its students. The college also held a raffle that students could enter to win a $50 gift card to the William Paterson University Bookstore. The event served as a great celebratory event for the debut of the new college.
