Brave Chat with Matt Goldman and Mike Mendez

Matt Goldman and Mike Mendez are both Sophomores at WPU. Matt Goldman started in the fall of 2024, and Mike Mendez started in the spring. Along with starting school, they both immediately joined the radio station and became close friends. Now, they both run the show “Talks and Tunes” every Tuesday from 9-11am.

Q: How did you find/join radio?

A: Matt Goldman: It was my freshman year at the club fair, and I saw the table for Brave New Radio, and I said to myself why not let me sign up.

Mike Mendez: So I came to WPU for radio, a teacher from my high school recommended it to me, and someone from my high school was in Brave New Radio, and he showed me around before I came to school; he was the sports director, actually!

Q: Where does the name “Talks and Tunes” come from?

A: Matt Goldman: We wanted to express our voices, but also play music from any genre and whatever we feel is the best song of the week.

Q: What’s your favorite song/artist to play on the radio?

A: Matt Goldman: Red Hot Chili Peppers and Paramore
