Brave Chat with Hollie Maniscalco
Hollie Maniscalco is a freshman at WPU, she started in the fall of 2025. Along with starting school she joined the radio station. After doing on-air training she now has a show of her own called “Play Something Country” that runs from 3-5PM every Friday!
Q: How did you find/join radio?
A: My dad started doing radio here at WPU when he went here. Matt Jinks had a show and we were in TV club together and he told me about his 80s themed show Cassette Chronicles. He let me sit in while he was on radio and I thought it would be fun. I love the station, it feels like home with the couches and everyone is so fun!
Q: Where does the name “Play Something Country” come from? Where did you get the idea for your show from?
A: The name comes from the Brooks and Duns song “Play Something Country,” it’s a fun song and has the vibe of the show. We don’t have a country show so I wanted to do a country show.
Q: What’s your favorite song/artist to play on the radio?
A: I like to play Carly Pierce, Taylor Swift, and Garth Brooks
